Eating at Epicurious in Shangri-La is hitting two birds with one stone. Today is MD Paper’s 10th Anniversary and because of that, Scribe organized an event to showcase talented artists and their works, and of course, several brands that are patronized by everyone in the event. Oh and did I say Everything Calligraphy also setup a different event at Epicurious? Yes, that’s why I was here, to attend the Fountain Pen Workshop hehe yeah so, busy day. I got to the opening on time, 11AM and managed to sign myself up for a free MD paper (yay! That means more paper I can practice on haha). And then early lunch at Epicurious at 11am, to catch the FPW at 1pm.

I was the 1st customer and was asked what I wanted to get. I said, I’ll get the Ribeye Steak, please. I was led to the delicatessen and pointed to me the available cuts. The one with the greatest marbling had to be chosen, for 713Php, not bad. I asked for it to be cooked in medium temperature and ordered their house Lemongrass Iced Tea. I sat myself at the corner, beside the glass mirror, eyeing everyone that comes in. See, I’m going to meet the FPN group for the first time and I wanted to be ready for that.

But my plate came from the kitchens, all in its medium cookery, with a side of mashed potatoes, buttered vegetables, and gravy. And it was mouthwatering to look at. I thought it would be thicker though, but when I sliced through it, it was short of that real steak thickness, but it tasted good! With the gravy and mashed potatoes. Every 713Php worth the bite. Oh and I almost forgot about the lemongrass iced tea! It’s very refreshing and I highly recommend it!

Choose your cut and let them cook it for you and have it served to you is ok by me. It’s a very affordable restaurant if you want good steak. Fresh, as you see and choose it from their freezer, the added joy of choosing your meat is fantastic. It’s my 1st time here and I was treated like a regular, the service was friendly and welcoming. The seats and tables are cozy and clean. And hey! This is where the fountain pen workshop was help, so it must have been a favourite of the fountain pen users already.
