For Valentines, my sister and I went out as early as 10am to Ayala to avoid the rush. Fortunately, only a handful of people were there, busy finding presents for their special someone. Flowers and chocolates were at a rage, and several people were in

kfc Double down
jollibee chicken barbecue

KFC’s newest addition to its plethora of chicken dishes, the Double Down, is a popular menu item for people on a diet and those who prefer to skip on carbohydrates. This special sandwich is composed of two big strips of chicken meat with a layer of bacon and a slice of cheese furnished with a hearty serving of mayo and a side dish of one’s own wish. I found the meat somewhat salty and the mayo not to my liking.

If KFC has the double down, Jollibee boasts its new Jollibee Chicken barbecue, a mixture of sweetish and spicy chicken served with a cup of lemon and soy sauce dip. I’ve read some negative reviews about this product and was a bit discouraged. Anyhow, I tried it regardless, and was somewhat satisfied with its taste. If you’re not a spicy food enthusiast, you’d like this for its very mild spicy flavor.

KFC has probably the best chicken between the two. The Double Down is a perfect combination of ingredients and

One sunny afternoon in IT park, my sister and I had this strong craving to try the new Thai restaurant in The Walk to break free from the usual food we eat. From the outside, Blue elephant seems to be a casual dining place amidst

Last night we ate at this cozy Japanese restaurant for dinner. The waiter immediately offered us hot tea or cold glass of water. Since it is getting cold outside, we chose hot tea. =)

They have an array of tempting dishes from sashimi, sushi, maki, rolls, soup, bentos and many more. We were served fried tuna roll with oyster sauce and Japanese mayo as appetizer, complements from the chef. It was perfect.

I ordered gyudon to compare it with the one in Mitsuwa. After tasting it, I could not decide though which one beats the other. I guess they are 5 stars both.

I’m definitely going back to this restaurant to taste their platter of sushi and sushi rolls.

During Ayala’s Midnight sale, we enjoyed our evening meal together at Don Henrico’s, located at the Ayala Terraces, Cebu. The restaurant offers an affordable buffet table with a few but delectable choices. I spied the table and saw two pizza dishes, two pasta choices (white

Tita Julies’s Fastfood

Julies Fastfood dates back to its humble beginnings as an expansion idea of a bakeshop owner. With plenty of other bakers sprouting here and there, the dream became a reality. Of course, the bakery is still strong as ever, regardless of how many other competitors

Wakamatsu Yakiniku

Wakamatsu Yakiniku

This unique all you can eat Japanese style restaurant has tables equipped with grills well as an overhead movable exhaust fan that suck the smoke out of each individual dining area. Their menu consists of a mix between Korean and Japanese cold cuts as well as raw food. Of course, depending on how much one can eat, any customer can order as much as they want.

The restaurant boasts its wide assortment of US, Aussie, Korean and Japanese meat, not to mention some seafood and a side dish of kimchi on the side. They also have traditional sake and shoju, in addition to local drinks, juices and shakes.

Verdict:

I can’t really say much about the food because the customer decides how he wants his meat.I have to reiterate that they serve bowls of delicious Korean cold noodles.

Beef overload! Rib eye steak and wagyu beef with a band playing cheesy melodramatic songs in the background – a fine way to cap a Saturday night. The beef dishes were excellent but our calamari appetizer was so-so. I would pick Cyma’s kalamarakia over this

What’s not to love about a restaurant whose staff comes to your table as they serve the appetizer, shouting in unison the word “OPA!”?

I certainly loved dining at this place (since I’m crazy for lamb, among other things.) Homey Greek atmosphere greeted us as we were seated on a table by the manager with just the right amount of music in the background. What’s more, we didn’t have to wait too long for our food.

To accompany our refillable specially iced tea, for starters, we had Greek caviar with salted fish roe (Taramosalata), Crispy Breaded Baby Squid, deep fried to satisfaction served with Tzatziki sauce and sprits of lemon (Kalamarakia) and last but not the least, Flaming Cheese served on a sizzling plate (OPA!)

The main course consisted of Lamb Gyro, generous marinated lamb slices with tomatoes, red onions and Tzatziki wrapped in pita, Firm, white and meaty Marlin Fillet whose distinct flavor can only be attained by Charcoal grilling, and their specialty, Cyma Lamb Chops, charbroiled shoulder loin Lamb chop served with a choice of rice stuffed pepper or Greek roasted potatoes.

Every single bite of food tickled our palates, truth be told. It’s my first time tasting Greek caviar and I found it weird since it looked like mayonnaise with ketchup to make it look pale pink (I’m no fan of mayonnaise). despite the looks, it was indeed different. Next, I’m proud to present, kalamarakia as an excellent order. baby squid is really crispy even when cooled down. It goes well with the sauce too.

Wifi users, beware. This establishment doesn’t have a working WiFi.

For who’s having their birthdays soon, be pleased to know that they have freebies for birthday celebrants. ^^
